Thinking about this a bit more, it will definitely be a lot more difficult for me to deal with IRROPS without concierge so I probably would have to take more time to have longer connecting times in between flights.
I wonder if it would make more sense buying a 3 month unlimited latitude flight pass. Were FP's allowed for last EYW?

The flight has to post to Altitude to be eligible. Unlimited FPs just post a monthly credit.

Meh, whatever... it's not like I can participate. They have retired me as of v5, I suppose another benefit of AC loyalty programs. Let's just call it a lame slap in the face?

A very good comment. I have zero interest in finding more ways to get onto more flights to gain miles. This year will likely be one where I do not hit the trifecta of miles/segments and $s. Segments will be less than 95 but mileage will be there due to bonus on latitude fares and discounted J products that add mileage. Since devaluation of high revenue and low mileage short haul flights, ACs random cancellation of too many short haul flights and my longer routes for travel, I will attain SE by miles and $s .

Watch the video
I found this talk on YouTube by Ian Di Tullio, Air Canada's Director of Loyalty, describing their perspective on Earn Your Wings. He goes in details about their creative process and what's to come; quite interesting. He also mentions that their ROI for the first two EYW was 560% with 156 millions bonus AE points awarded.

If they have money to throw around on frivolous promotions I would sure rather they actually did something about the broken concierge service model or the total cluster f in YYZ (meaning improve how they are handling it for customers) or something that is actually meaningful to more than a few of their customers. Speaking as somebody whom they couldn't pay to participate in EYW and wouldn't join if the winning were money and not AE points which can't be be used on 20% of •A and which thanks to the gutting of IKK in Western Canada can't be used hardly at all unless you are in YOW YYZ YUL. Oh right but if they gameify punching us in the face it is all good.

So I did. Much of the half-hour presentation was devoted to appealing to the participants' supposed egos - using terms like "one-up" and "shove it in your friend's face". The 'killer' gamer archetype he speaks of received an inordinate share of the attention. Competition is natural, healthy and fun to a point, but maybe it speaks to the type of personality that is drawn to gaming? How about: "Who cares about self-esteem? Self-esteem is totally overvalued". No surprise that he admits this is stereotypically male behaviour and the game is a airborne sausage fest. In the Q&A session, he discussed the opportunity to shift from a male-dominated game to one that appeals to more women. Less focus on the killers I say, and more towards the achievers, socializers and explorers.
The presenter's observations on EYW psychology will come as no surprise to this forum's observers: "the gloat factor is kinda big in this community".
It was admitted by the presenter that the success of the EYW game - at least in 2013 - was driven by a few people drastically altering their flying behaviour, (the FF population "over indexes" and drives large returns for AC. However, a broad-based section of the flying population increasing their flying incrementally also produces a similar ROI for the airline, and once they 'prove to the executives' that EYW is profitable, they'll consider investing in the larger flying population as a whole. Did any participants notice subsequent contests engineered to appeal to more people?
There are a lot of nuggets about how to interpret AC's performance in the EYW contests, insofar as being able to determine which routes or destinations may be underperforming at the time of each game. He singled out YTZ as "suffering" at the time, and I'm sure the inclusion of a CDG badge that coincided with Air France's entry into YVR was no accident.
Finally, tacit admission at 10:54: "I can tell you from the forums that we've been covering...."
