5000 miles Mileage Plan Enrollment Bonus Question
My mother has her first Alaska Airlines flight (SAN-SJC) coming up on Skywest. She got an offer by email, saying : "When you join Mileage Plan before July 31, 2017 and take a flight by Sept. 30, 2017, we'll give you 5,000 bonus miles".
Further below, the fine print notes that: "To qualify, the flight must be eligible to earn Mileage Plan miles and must be credited to the new Mileage Plan account; codeshare flights with other airlines do not qualify. "
Does Skywest count as a codeshare or is it a subsidiary of Alaska Airlines? Basically, does this flight qualify her for the 5k enrollment bonus?
The instructions on the ticket says, "Operated By SkyWest Airlines as AlaskaSkyWest. Check in with Alaska Airlines."
Thanks much!

Err... another question
How do I switch from her current BA EC membership number to Alaska on the reservation? I can only find a way to add a Known Traveler or Redress number, but seems like I can't switch mileage programs.
What am I doing wrong?

Yes, true, but I'd rather take care of it in advance.
DM'd them. The first response, "Should be an option under the manage reservation" didn't inspire a lot of confidence, but later the agent offered to change it for me.
Thanks!
Thanks!
