A quick search on AA.com (US site) shows they are still selling two J seats on each of the two non-stops from PHL. Expert Flyer shows J2 for both as well. Delta also has a flight from PHL at 6:20 that is J5.

Edit to add plenty of seats in J on BA 216 from IAD.

How about routing PHL-GLA and take the train from Glasgow to inverness.

The problem with connections is I have onward flight LHR-INV which only flies once daily. My preference is alt flight and not fight EC 261.

ExpertFlyer does get our data from the GDSs and is accurate for the POS searches as noted above.

Thanks. The fact AA is still selling J seats while BA who has cancelled their flight and now downgrading passengers because AA will not release the inventory is even more frustrating. If you look at the PHL-LHR flights on AA metal the space exisits, but as BA flight the availability is 0 in J....but same flight as AA ticket is different story. Hard to fathom the lack of customer service which is embedded into BA & OW Alliance

Hope it's okay to add a question to this thread. My spouse and I are booked on a flight this Sunday from SJC to LHR. This is our first time in CW, so super excited. But now I cant access the seat map on that leg of our trip, and I know it's a mixed fleet route. I haven't received any notification that it has been cancelled, but I remember that the last time there was a strike they did cancel some SJC flights. There are still CW seats available for this Friday before the strike starts.
Would I be able to call BA and ask to switch to Friday, even though I haven't received an official cancellation?

As well as LHR-DOH 1-6 July, returning 2-7 July.

Ms.O, I tried a dummy booking for your flight in business for next Sunday and while the site was willing to sell me a CW ticket, it would not show me a seat map. I tried another dummy booking for your flight on another date (sometime this August) and it would not show me a seat map for selecting my seat as well. While I am not an expert on BA's web site, my guess is it is a temporary web site issue.

In the previous dispute it was kept in the main Mixed Fleet thread, which has some merit for comparing with the previous 8 strike sequences. I guess this is a slightly different state of affairs. In the main MF thread there is a link already in place for "what should I do about this?".

Closing the loop on my original post that started this thread. Altho 2 J seats existed on the PHL-LHR service on AA metal, BA would not permit me to use - apparently as AA would not. Have agreed to fly Y on AA metal with little expectation of EC 261 help as ticket will be re-issued and BA have suitable argument that I was offered choices. So much for OW partners helping each other's clients!

Isn't EC261 irrelevant for strike action? I thought weather and strikes were both considered "exceptional circumstances"...

Further reading has strongly indicated that EC261 is irrelevant in strike action.....so I shall await my $130 refund (based on experience) for the downgrade.

Not sure where you are getting this from, but check again. BA operated 8 charters today, including one 767.
