DL in J - A333 or B764

Which would be better for TATL in J: A333 (new seat) or B764 (older seat)?

There are threads in the DL forum describing and comparing these aircraft.

Plenty of discussion on DL forum (will alert mod) but the short answer is the A330 is better.

That being said if the A330 is inconvenient for whatever reason (tight connection, really long connection, etc.) the 764 is perfectly acceptable - especially if you can get a seat in Row 1 (extra space for your feet).

First of thank you and sorry for posting in the wrong section.

Actually I would be able to get the row 1 in B764 for the outbound leg. Does the more legroom apply for the window seats, middle seats or both?

I prefer A330 for sleeping, 767 for daytime. 767 has a better console area, but feels coffin-like for sleeping. The footwells for all of row 1 on a 767 are much more spacious than the rest of the rows which are very restrictive.

It applies to all of the row 1 seats. It isn't more legroom, per se, but a much larger footwell. It ends up having somewhat the same effect as more legroom, though, but also makes movement in bed much easier.

You will hear a lot of people complain about the 767 seats, but I actually think that the row 1 seats are quite nice. I like the large side tables, especially. If you are on the larger side (say 6'2"+ or over 230 lbs), I could see the bed being cramped, but for folks under that, I think the "coffin" criticisms are overstated. For non-row 1, I do think the footwell is tight, almost uncomfortably so.

In short, if you aren't a bigger person and can get row 1, I would choose on schedule, even though I think the A330 seat is better.

Schedule and connection would work better with the A333 for me. It's probably decided then.
Thank you all for inputs.

Just got back from a mileage upgrade to J on the 764, MXP-ATL. The missus and I sat in 1B-1C. We really enjoyed the trip. Also, and maybe this is because we started in Italy, but Delta's food on this particular flight was the best I can remember in some time.

We did 1B and 1C on the 763 to LHR last month and it was great for sleeping. I slept probably 6ish hours? Did the express dinner and slept until about 30 min before landing and had no issues (about 5'11, 160).

As for food, it must be something about Italy catering. Our FCO - ATL flight home in C+ was the best Y catering I've had in years, easily better than any domestic F I've had the last few years (except maybe UA old PS/D1)

If you are petite then both are fine. If you are larger then the A330 is better.

Surely the reverse herring bone on the A330 will always be superior to the 767 seat. I can't see why anyone would ever pick the 767 seat over the A330 IMO.
