Chase MileagePlus cards {all flavors?) rewards now labelled "United TravelBank cash"

I noticed an interesting change when logging into my Chase account. The Rewards section for my United MileagePlus Explorer card is now labelled "United TravelBank cash". However, drilling into the details still shows the same old mile earning rules.

Is it possible the card is changing from miles to a cash bank? Or perhaps the entire MileagePlus program is changing to a cash bank instead of miles? This must be a glitch as I'm sure there would be ample notification prior to such a change whether to the card or to the entire MileagePlus program.

Seeing the same thing so this isn't some glitch unique to the OP.

Saw this last week as well on the Chase site - I've got the Select card.

Have no idea if it means anything different, but presuming it's just semantics until I hear anything is changing. Perhaps they're prepping for some new kind of card. Haven't noticed anything different, and presume that there is a notification that must be given if they plan on changing benefits like type of rewards earned.

That makes the most sense to me. It would seem odd for a card titled "MileagePlus Explorer" card not to earn miles.

There must be something afoot, otherwise I can't imagine why the phrase "United TravelBank cash" would even exist in Chase's systems.

Could it be that the TravelBank currently offered by United will be linked to Chase?

I have the Select and the Explorer cards and both show the same message. I am torn between having miles versus TravelBank cash. One one hand miles will help with awards, but having cash to subsidize tickets isnt bad either. Too bad that they dont really sell all
*A premium class offerings at a decent price on UA.

Seems there is no need to be torn between those choices. There are plenty of cashback cards available if that works better for you.

Same for my Chase MP Club card and my older legacy Chase MP Platinum Card.

My guess this is a 'glitch', note the listed benefits have not changed and any specific change in card operation, cost or benefits requires prior notification. As illustrated by the annual fee increase notices many have received for the PresPlus and Club cards.

The Chase site has been a bit odd recently -- very slow and problematic to log into.

I see the same for my wife's MP Select Card, and my MP Explorer and Club cards.

Did everyone get these? I haven't received a notice about a changed fee, and my annual renewal comes up next month.

One thing you can bet your bottom dollar on is that whatever they're fixin' to do, ain't gonna be favorable to the card holder. We are probably gonna hear about the new and improved benefits in the coming weeks.

I suppose one way to find out is to call and hope to get a straight answer from someone at the other end.

The annual fee notices for PresPlus & Club card have been rolling out over the past month -- so not to take this thread OT,

I thought there used to be a TravelBank card in the CO days, and it appears there was:

Maybe an artifact?

Chase did recently update their UI, let's hope it is a glitch.

Odd that it shows up on Chase but would it have anything to do with the upcoming MileagePlus GO Visa Prepaid Card?
