I am Platinum 100 and stayed for 5 nights here. I debated between this and the Royal. Sheraton won out due to infinity pool. I was worried the hotel would be too busy. It was busy and had lots of hustle and bustle but it turned out to be a good thing! We briefly walked over to the Royal and it seemed too quiet. The pool lat the Royal (not the shared one with Sheraton - which always seemed 'loud' compared to infinity) - was small.

At the inifinity pool (16+ only - they are great about enforcing this), Plat members can get 2 pool chairs reserved. you have to arrive by 10a to claim (you can reserve day before). The pool staff were fabulous.

As part of the welcome amenity I got a coupon to bring to gift shop to fill bag with food/merchandise. Not a large selection but got a few items - 2 boxes of macademia nut cookies, a night light, dried fruit.

I asked the resort fee to be waived - no resistance whatsoever. 90% of that was useless to me anyways so that was nice. Parking also waived...I don't even think I asked about this, they just offered. At best I was hoping to have 1 waived so was pleasantly surprised.

We did have 3 in our room so I paid the $120/person/day charge. Was tough for me to swallow initially....using 80K points plus paying that much...having the resort/parking waived made me feel much better about this.  Normally in the lounge you only get 2 person access, but the $120 also included the 3rd person.

Room

My SNAs went through and we got the Malia (spelling?) suite. Size was nice, room seem slightly in need of refurb - some 'edges' were a little rough but it was clean.

Dining

Ate at the pool - good food/drinks. Else walked outside of hotel - so many options - low and high end. Some great Japanese food too in the area.

We used the louge a lot. Defintely a step above others. Nice breakfast, rotated a couple items daily. Afternoon snacks - which you could make a meal out of. Rotated several items daily. Beer/wine included. Amazing views. Like wow. Stunning Diamond Head views - I hope that image is forever seared in my brain.

They have grab and go stuff at Lawson which is a Japanese conveinence store. I loved the onigiri and other nods to Japan. I geeked out a bit. I didn't realize how much Japanese influence there was in the area.

Location

On Waikiki but beach access is on either side of the hotel....it isn't easy to continuously stroll along the beach. In the middle of the action - amidst all shops and dining on Waikiki.
