Excellent Stay

Excellent hotel in the centre of the old town Firenze. We chose this hotel over all other SLH properties, as it had the largest basic rooms. Typically, I am quite disappointed by the SLH hotels in Europe, mostly old, awful interior design and most dreadful: small rooms of 15-18 sqm (ca 20 sqf). Not this location though!

The entrance to the hotel is very very small. The door is always locked and you need to ring a bell so that they open (after check-in you can use your room key to open)

Due to COVID-19 occupancy was very low. They automatically greeted me by my name. Efficient and very friendly service.

I later found out, that only 3 rooms of a total of 14 rooms were occupied. Based on the WOH T&C, I should have received a 1-category upgrade. I did not, although the next higher category was available. I however also did not push. I actually hate having to push for benefits, and the room we booked was anyhow very good.

I used points for the 2-night stay. Primary reason to choose this hotel was, that it has the largest rooms of all central Firenze SLH hotels. I hate small rooms and this basic room already was 40sqm (43 sqf).  Rooms are offered with a king size bed, or twin beds. We opted for the twin beds, and they were very comfy.

There was a small kitchenette with minibar, Nespresso machine, cooking facility, coffe cups, glasses, dishes and cutlery.

Breakfast was served on the 3rd floor. Due to COVID-19, no buffet was available, but a very large à la carte menu, and we could chose whatever and how much we wanted.

Eggs made to order. we both chose poached eggs, but they did have issues in making those to be honest. It took them 2 attempts. 

the location of this hotel is ideal! really right in the centre of the old town with all the shopping and many restaurants in the vicinity. We are not into art, museums and all that... but if you are interested, it's all just a stone throw away from the hotel

Overall excellent hotel, very good service, very friendly and. worth while to use points (Category 8).

Valet parking was offered. Cost was 50€ per night. Rather high price, but hey, it's a city and service was really good and fast

Staff in generall were always very friendly and helpful. The GM gave us some good tips for shopping and I purchased 3 pairs of Italian made shoes (from a family run small business, and not chinese workers simply working in Northern Italy!)
