Stats

I recently spent the night at the relatively new Four Seasons Downtown NYC.  Overall, a stunning property and one I will be sure to return to.

Check In

I arrived mid-morning at the hotel and one of the bellmen immediately came to welcome me to the hotel, help with our luggage, and ask our name.  The bellman immediately knew I had completed check in via the Four Seasons app and thanked me for doing so.  He also escorted me to the front desk where the agent already had my reservation pulled up.

Check in was quick and I was thanked for booking through a Preferred Partner agency.  The benefits are $100 breakfast credit each morning and either a $100 spa credit or $100 room service credit.  The front desk agent escorted me to the elevator and the bellman offered to escort us to our room, but we declined.

Overall, a pretty seamless check in experience.  The hotel made sure to mention that I will not need to stop at the front desk on any future visits and this was just to verify the credit card on my account.

Room

The floor we were on (12) only had about a dozen rooms and had a very residential feel to it.  I never saw another guest on our floor and only once did I ride one of the elevators with another.

I booked a room with two double beds and it seems there is only one room category with two beds.  But even with this one category, the room was fantastic.  You immediately enter to the bedroom with the closet on the right on the way to the bathroom.  The room itself is billed at 425 sqft, but seemed larger, it was perfectly sized IMO.

The beds were very nice and we both slept well.  My dad claimed to hear a dog barking, I did not.  IIRC, the hotel is pet friendly though.  There was a little street noise, but nothing unbearable or uncommon for NYC.

Dining

We ordered room service twice, once for late night snacks and another for breakfast.  Each order was placed via the inroom iPad and the order came ontime and correct. The food was also very good.  The breakfast credit may seem like a lot, but we went over with just the two of us.  We had to sign once but not the other.  Really my only complaint is that they charge a mandatory 15% gratuity and then have another line for tip on the receipt.  They need to get rid of the line on the receipt and not have guests sign for anything.

Service

Service throughout was very good.  Almost every time we came or left we were greeted (not by name, but they clearly knew we were guests).  The gentleman who delivered our room service also delivered ice (sore ankle) to our room and made sure to ask the second time how we were doing and asked if he could get more ice.
At checkout, the agent was nice and made sure to go over the bill.  All credits were applied correctly and she offered to get transportation if we needed it.

Location

I'm somewhat indifferent on the location.  I haven't explored the area much, but I do like the Battery Park area south of the hotel.  I spend most of my time in NYC in the Flatiron district or Central Park West and the hotel was close to the subway and also convenient for Uber/Taxi.

Overall

Overall, I'd easily go back.  The weekend rates are reasonable ~$400 compared to about double that at many of the other luxury hotels.  The service is very good and the rooms nice.
