Short Review

Well we spent one night and they offered an upgrade to a Loft which was much larger but in my opinion, not as nice as the original Superior room we booked so we ended up switching back. It was comfortable and a nice hotel (kind of a gothic decor and a bit too dark imo, you need a flashlight to navigate the halls late at night and I nearly poked my eye out trying to brush my teeth!), service was friendly though not typical of what one would receive for equal cost (had we paid full rate) from any of the NYC luxury hotels. Staff are young and helpful but the focus is clearly on creating a trendy atmosphere and so they are not entirely experienced in the hospitality industry. We checked out after one night and into the St. Regis. I'm posting this now from our King room on the 8th floor and what a difference, like night and day! THIS is luxury and service; incomparable! It's only been one full night and day since we checked in but this is undoubtedly one of the most enjoyable and pleasurable hotel room experiences we've had. The service is impeccable, fromt he complimentary fresh fruit bowls, chocolates and tea platters in our room every afternoon to the amazing desk staff and concierge. If I could afford to do so, I'd move right into a suite here and live out of this hotel!
