Hyatt House Sacramento Airport

Mixed feelings about returning. The hotel is new and fresh, very nice decor; so much better than the dated IHG & Hilton options across the freeway. Previously rates have been high here, so I hadn't tried it. This time rates were actually lower than the other brands.  Airport shuttle is 24 hours, dedicated for Hyatt. All SMF hotels take 15 minutes or more with bad I-5 traffic.

The final interaction is what has me unsure if I'll stay again. Upon receipt of an email copy of my bill, I noticed there was a $60 charge for parking. I called to say I paid a Park N'Fly rate and I parked for 5 nights.  Manger returned my call and was quite unpleasant. She continually put me on hold, and then stated so you "think" you paid for parking in your rate.  To which I replied I "know" I paid for parking in my rate. This call took about 15 minutes and ended in her saying I would get a credit for the $60 overcharge.

King, Booked Park N'Fly rate

This hotel has been open for about 3 months. It's one complex which includes Hyatt Place. They share everything, no noticeable diffeence between the two. The HH rate was $10 less than HP. I asked front desk why this set up and she replied HH has kitchens. I did not have a "kitchen" in my room--just a microwave, small frig, coffee maker (with no cups). She shrugged. On arrival at night internet barely worked, it was so poor I just gave up. The next morning it was better. Took the shuttle to SMF and had been given strict instructions to be down 10 minutes prior to 9 a.m. I complied and at 9 a.m. with no driver present, I went back in to the front desk--she was standing there chatting. They grilled me asking for my name, room number, checked the list to make sure I was legit; (note Ii had checked out at the front desk 15 minutes prior). I was the only shuttle passenger. Hotel computers were down so they could not provide a receipt for the stay.

Breakfast food was okay, but the plates were tiny--no more than 6 inches square. Signs posted stating no food or beverages to be taken to guest rooms, Food stays in dining area. Night prior I ordered a chicken sandwich at the bar, which was surprisingly good. Hamburger, turkey sandwich, wings, pizza--things like that.  There was actually a kitchen with a cook preparing the food.  Bar was out of many items listed on the menu (wine,, beer, spirits cocktail ingredients). I was able to find a cocktail which was good. Bartender had to use her phone for the recipes and finished making the drink after I'd eaten half my sandwich. 

If the rate is in line with other SMF properties, I'd stay again.  There's a new Four Points in the same parking lot.  HH/HP opened in July and they still seem a bit challenged.
