Great property, with wonderful staff that make it that way.
Check In
They did a wonderful job welcoming us. i'd spoken with Shanker Narayanan, the Assistant Front Office Manager, and was looked after by Susan Salvo, their Guest Services Manager, who did a wonderful job. Kareem O'Brien, is the Director of Front Office. Didn't see Alexi, the GM, on this stay, but he was very hospitable on our last stay.
Room
we had two rooms, for five pax, the hotel had high occupancy, but was upgraded from two basic rooms to Club double queens, nice, plenty of space, on the 18th floor. the rooms on all of the higher floors have been renovated.
Service
service was excellent, my only criticism of this property, is one they respond with "it is out of our hands, a local liquor licensing law".
alcoholic beverages in the club lounge have to be paid for.
having said that, the staff in the lounge do a great job, Lyndsay was very service orientated.
Vera, the old lounge manager is missed.
Dining
we didn't eat meals other than breakfast in Azure. we have in the past, and have never been disappointed.
the breakfasts were great, the buffet, the omelettes, made to order eggs etc, always fresh, and tasty, well presented. they really do a great job of breakfast in the Azure.
the staff are wonderful. each time we visit, they are warm, and welcoming, a really good team.
Location
location is excellent, downtown, a few blocks from China town, and only a few blocks from the harbour, and the city airport on the harbour, handy for Porter flights.
Overall
this would be my favourite north american InterCon property, if they cld only solve the club alcohol policy. RA's get the free mini bar, not sure how different that is to dispersing of alcoholic beverages in the lounge.
others tell me, they get alcoholic drinks in other lounges in Toronto.
Concierge
Sherine does an excellent job
Pool
the pool is nice, with a spa bath, and an outdoor area to catch some rays, and a spot to get a massage or other spa treatments.
