Majlis Grand Mercure Residence Abu Dhabi

This hotel was the main point of my stay in Abu Dhabi

Coming from a dissapointing experience in the Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche , due to lack of informations about RT-PCR requirements (March 2022) , where i basically spend the entire time in my room , as i wasnt allowed to use any other amenities during my stay without valid RT-PCR test

This is , with sofitel , the only Accor hotel within the center of the city

I needed a place suited to long term accomodations and it turns out i got lucky and Majilis was the best choice

Arrived by taxi , and immediately the buttler took care of our luggages

We had to wait a bit in order to finish all paperwork , and when done they invited me to the room

No RT-PCR needed and i was able to fully use all amenities of the hotel without issues unlike Sofitel

The hotel looks nice from outside and in the lobby , but i got used to this trick in the UAE , so i only judge a hotel by their rooms

Let's see what this hotel has to offer

I booked a basic studio and got upgraed to a bedroom suite

It is simply huge , i feel like in a house

One detail to mention , the lights and air conditionning are also controlled by central panels , near TV and near bed , but in my case they barely worked , so i called staff to fix it (dont remember the outcome) but i guess in the end i just gave up and did everything manually

The kitchen has everything you need to cook , wash dishes and clothes

The bedroom is separated from living room , and was quite big also

I was afraid about the noise , but it turns out in the night you can barely hear anything ,so i had good sleep there

Bathroom also is within same standards

I was using the bathtub as a shower , so it wasnt useful for me , but i can imagine for others it might be

The day after arrival the welcome gift was in the room

This is a clear lesson for other hotels , especially in Europe , cause i cant count how many times i had such case lately in 2022 where i havent got anything , despite early bookings or 2/3 days stays

The pool is located on last floor

Not big , but surely enough if not crowded

There is also a gym (didnt use it) and maybe a restaurant but not sure

As i had a kitchen in my room and delivery was super quick and cheap , i had little need to use hotel restaurant , but next time i will give a try

To summarize , while this hotel might not be the fanciest in the city , i think it is worth staying there , especially for longer stays
