It’s a huge and very nice resort, located in the Dead Sea resort complex, where all big hotels are. One hour by car from Amman or from the airport, and 20 min from Mount Nebo site. This was the end of my Jordan trip and I stayed only one night at this Mövenpick. In case you don’t know, the Dead Sea is the lowest point on Earth : -420m below sea level as shown on this sign on the beach of the hotel. Consequence of this, it gets very hot during the summer : 39°C, so not so pleasant and you’d better not stay too long there in summer time, although it’s a very nice resort and the Dead Sea zone is beautiful.

The hotel called me in the morning to enquire about my estimated arrival time (2 pm) as they wanted to make sure my room would be ready. Very nice attention, once again.

Check In

Once I was identified at check-in, the red carpet was rolled out for me. The room was ready. I booked a Classic room/King (entry level) and they upgraded me to a large room in a special area with a “private” pool. Private here doesn’t mean reserved to my room but for a small group of rooms (less than 10).That was super appreciated as an upgrade, because the resort was very busy and obviously turns quickly in a factory. They explained me all the facilities (pools, spa, etc) and restaurants of the hotel. Unfortunately, no time to enjoy most of them due to the short stay. I was driven with my luggage to my room with a buggy. The drink voucher was not given spontaneously, I had to request it.

The Resort

1st priority for me was to enjoy a swim in the Dead Sea (never did it before). It is indeed a special experience. From the room, you need to cross the entire resort.

A tennis court (as expected, unattended during the day, due to the heat).9DB05770-3F2C-4C33-9F68-22BDAC893CAA.jpeg

You reach the 1st pool invaded by screaming kids ;)

Then you reach a 2nd pool reserved to adults (1st time I see this). Both pools offer very nice sea view.

Then you reach the small private beach. Buggys are available to drive people if they wish.

I redeemed the drink voucher at the adult pool bar while enjoying the beautiful sunset over the Israel side of the Dead Sea. FD1B4B67-22DD-43D4-BC8E-82450CC055F3.jpeg552788DB-C267-42E8-B857-4E4CAFC17A7E.jpeg48E8FDB8-5256-4499-974E-1A92037742A4.jpegAD3993A7-7631-47C8-BD50-9887FCA863A2.jpeg

Dining

Several restaurants available across the resort, from buffet to Italian, BBQ, local, etc

Breakfast is taken at the buffet restaurant in the main building. The buffet is attended (at most stations, you are served).

Overall

Overall, a very nice resort where Diamond members are well treated. It was a nice conclusion of my Mövenpick Jordan tour.
