Checking was pleasant and fast, with a free apple offered. We were given a room in the “new” section of the hotel that was slightly bigger than the older rooms.

The room smelt a little of perfume, but the window opened and the smell went in a few minutes. However this did reveal that the room could be easily overlooked by the other hotel rooms facing it, so it necessitated a closed curtain for the rest of the stay that made the room dark.

The television showed mostly French channels with just BBC World in English. There was no tea and coffee making facilities in the room, despite the rest of the rooms in the block having a kettle and cups. We were told at checkout that “someone must have taken it”. Meh.

Parking was free and there is a paid shuttle to the airport. A taxi from the airport was about 10€.

The bed was clean and combatable, but the room chair was in need of a good clean.

The enclosed room toilet / shower area was grubby with a ¾ exhausted toilet roll only provided. Reception did offer a full roll when asked. However taking a shower late at night, it only became apparent that the shower area had not been cleaned from the previous stays, with the area behind the wall mounted soap dispenses dirty and grimy, and long black hair on the shower walls and floating out from the drain.

When this was reported to the receptionist on check out in the morning, they offered a cup of coffee to make up for the missing tea maker, and said that they could do no more as the room was pre-paid!.
