Check In

We arrived in Saigon in the afternoon after a flight with Turkish Airlines from Istanbul. We took a taxi from the international termin of SGN to the hotel which took about 30 minutes. After arrival we quickly helped by one of the front desk agents and received our room keys as well as a letter with all the Hyatt Prive benefits we would get. We were then brought to our room.

Room

As the standard rooms at the Park Hyatt Saigon do not offer any balconies we decided to stay in one of the Deluxe Rooms which are located on the third floor of the hotel. They come with their private outdoor area with direct access to the pool. As we wanted to have a bit more space we decided to stay in one of their Park Deluxe Suites. For that we booked a Lan Som Suite through Hyatt Prive and received the upgrade to the Park Deluxe Suite. During our time of booking there was also a 3-for-2 rate available so that was a very good deal for us. We were told at check-in that the hotel only has a few of these Park Deluxe Suites - ours was located at the end of the corridor next to the spa. The suite features a large living room, next to it was a little kitchen area with a coffee machine. The bedroom looked like the regular standard room. So basically this is just a regular Park Deluxe Room with an extra living room area. For us it was perfect to have that extra space. Waiting for us on the table was a mango cake which was also sold at the italian restaurant as well as a bottle of red wine - as we mentioned that we do not drink red wine it was quickly changed to a bottle of white wine which was nice. The bathroom also has the same size of the bathroom in the Standard Rooms. For us it was fine but as far as I know there are larger bathrooms in the other suites available.

Service

To be honest, I expected a little bit more in terms of service at the Park Hyatt Saigon. I have been staying at some Park Hyatts around the world and the level of service we received was always top notch. However at the Park Hyatt Saigon it felt a little different. For example on one evening we wanted to ask the concierge if we need to submit the health declaration form for domestic travel (we read online that it would not be necessary but Vietnam Airlines sent us multiple mails to have one). As there was a line at the concierge desk we had to wait around ten minutes which was fine for us. At the same time there were multiple managers next to us chatting with each other and clearly seeing people waiting. We were not in a hurry but I think they should have come over to see if they can help. Also, there was a two-for-one promotion at the spa. I booked two spa treatments and a few minutes before the first one started I was told that the two-for-one promotion is not available anymore and that I need to pay the second treatment as well. I just cancelled the second treatment but I think they honor it if they advertise it and confirm the treatments.

Dining

There are several dining outlets available at the hotel but we only had breakfast as well as some cocktails at both bars at the lobby. There is one lobby bar called 2 Lam Son which we enjoyed very much. Cocktails were great, also the service. Then there is also the Park Lounge at the lobby which looks amazing, however we did not very like the "tea-inspired" cocktails. If you want to have a drink, I would recommend the 2 Lam Son bar.

Breakfast was very nice! There is a buffet offered which is not huge for asian-hotel-breakfast standards but I think the quality was quite good and they had everything you need. There was also the option to order eggs, pancakes and asian dishes from their menu. I had the Pho-soup one morning and enjoyed it. The iced coffee was good.IMG_1962.jpegIMG_2174.jpegIMG_2175.jpeg

Location

I liked to location a lot. You are in walking distance of everything. I think that there is no better location is district 1.

Overall

We enjoyed our stay at would come back if we visit Saigon again. The best part for me was the pool area which felt like a very peaceful oasis in the middle of a bustling city. IMG_2012.jpegIMG_1974.jpegIMG_1911.jpegIMG_1912.jpeg
