Pre-Arrival

Not much to mention here other than the spa was quite speedy in replying over email, which was nice. We booked a City View room via DavidO which included breakfast and $100 spa credit.

Arrival

One huge negative is that the MO is one of two hotels that seems to charge for parking in LV. I’m not sure what the fee is but it’s very easy to self park at Aria and walk over, which we did. We were greeted by the doormen at the entrance who offered assistance with our bags though we declined. He did ask our names which he seemed to radio to someone. We then took the elevator up to the lobby, which I think is located on the 23rd floor. At check in we were again asked our names, offered a towel and tea and checked in quickly. The agent did explain the FAN benefits and that they had managed to upgrade us to a Strip View room, in spite of being full due to a conference. The agent offered to escort us to the elevator, which we declined.

Room

Seemed pretty standard; nothing really distinguishes it from the rooms at Aria and the Wynn..I found the bed mattress to be of poor quality. Saggy on the sides. Big negative is that there isn’t in room coffee- sure there’s coffee available between 6-10 PM downstairs but it wasn’t even that hot either. I found the room controller to be a bit of a pain to use.. I’m fairly tech savvy but it took me two days to figure out how to turn on the bathroom nightlight. I appreciate dimmable light as well, especially in the bathroom and that didn’t seem to be an option (maybe it was; though I couldn’t figure it out). I can’t really decide if it was a plus or minus that the lights turned on and the shades opened when the room is entered. The strip view is fairly unattractive but there don’t seem to be great views anywhere in Vegas. All in all a fine room but nothing really sets it apart in Vegas.IMG_2428.jpgIMG_2429.jpgIMG_2431.jpgIMG_2434.jpgIMG_2433.jpgIMG_2443.jpg

Location

Pretty central on the LV strip but due to the maze like pathways it takes a while to walk anywhere...

Dining

Only breakfast; buffet the first day which seemed a pretty standard buffet. Room service on the second. I got the Japanese breakfast which honestly was plenty bland. My wife had the quiche which she thought was unremarkable.

Service

Didn’t really test them but I did call down for pillows and ice. They brought the pillows after twenty minutes but forgot the ice. They did deliver a small welcome amenity... with only one madeleine...IMG_2437.jpg

Spa/Fitness

My wife used the spa for a facial and found it very lackluster. The workout room was adequate.IMG_2449.jpgIMG_2450.jpg

Overall

I guess this is the best that LV has to offer… resort fee is pretty disappointing.. service in our couple encounters was pretty lackluster… I’ld probably rather stay at Aria or the Wynn next time (though hopefully there won’t be a next time…)
