Check In

The Ritz could arrange a car service for $132 each eay from Naha airport. The concierge I emailed with prior to the stay said a taxi would cost $20 to $30 less than that. So I decided to just grab a taxi. Price ended up being $150. We did not hit excessive traffic. Clearly the estimate was wrong. I advise booking through the hotel to lock in the flat rate, or taking the shuttle bus if there is a conveinent time (there are only 5 or so times per day).

Check-in was smooth. No complaints. A nice greeting. I was upgraded to a beautiful Premiere Deluxe Room.

Room

Premiere Deluxe Room. Beautiful. Clean. No complaints.

Service

Service was excellent. What I would expect of Japan and a high-end hotel brand.

Dining

There are a few options onsite. There are set courses that are more expensive, but one can also order a la carte. I enjoyed the afternoon tea in the lobby bar. For dinner I ate at the Okinawan restaurant Gusuku.

Breafast was included in my FHR rate - the buffet was at Gusuku and was top notch with Western and Japanese options.

Location

It takes 1h15m w/o traffic from the Naha airport. It isn't close. But I stayed 2 nights and even with the longer transport did not feel cheated. I am not sure that there is anything within walking distance from the hotel as I did not venture out. The hotel itself overlooks a golf course and the ocean so it is not direct on the ocean. There are not shops/restaurants right by the hotel. I suppose you could walk down the road to the main street, but I am not 100% if there is anything to walk to.

The hotel shuttle will take you to/from Kise beach (5-7min drive) on command. At the beach there are chairs/umbrellas for RC use. The hotel will provide you with towels, water, and a sunscreen packet. The sand is courser with shells. It shares the beach with the Kise Beach Palace or something like that.

I did not use the spa, but the fitness area is in the spa building. They have a nice workout room, with an indoor pool, and outdoor hot tub.

Overall

The hotel is gorgeous in design. They have a nice pool with an infinity edge (but it does not plunge into the ocean as it is set far back).

I would not recommend this hotel for a beach vacation since it is not directly on the beach. But it is defintely a nice place to relax.
