OMG u mean like this? I don't understand why the TV can't be in front of the nice sofas and why the TV in the bedroom is lower than the bed. And there's only one sink in the washroom.

Oh and the previous question:
1. Average one stay at CCS per month. It's usually one night each stay, more when I feel extra stressed at work
2. Been going to CCS for the past 2 years (at least)
3. And I'm just a lowly gold. Earned through stays/nights/points

Interesting data points and Thanks for sharing. Despite being Gold, you are certainly their regular and a well known guest since you stay with them monthly over 2 years. Can see why you got.that double upgrade from a C.Suite to a P.Suite.

Conrad Centennial Singapore

Check In

I was greeted by head hotel porter as I was getting out of the airport taxi (cost a mere S$16 from the airport) and was escorted to the reception. I was not given the option to check-in in the lounge but did not really mind, as I was tired of 14 hour flight from LHR and just wanted to get changed and go out. Very kind receptionist asked whether it was my first time at Conrad Singapore (yes, as I usually stay in the Hilton on Orchard road) and she then mentioned everything I needed to know, like swimming pool opening hours, location of exec lounge, offered late check-out at 3pm (due to Hilton Diamond status and my flight not departing till 10 pm anyway), and escorted me to my room.

Room

I booked the cheapest Classic King size bed room (at rate of around S$350). Upon arrival I was upgraded to Executive king room (alas, no suite upgrade available for me this time). It was a nice air-conditioned king size bedroom (I liked that the setting and air-con were on as I entered the room and temperature was just right). Not the largest or fanciest room I have seen, but the views were excellent. From 25th floor (I think I remember this right) with views of the Marina, S flyer and St Andrews cathedral. Absolutely stunning. Free fruit, welcome Conrad-Singapore labelled teddy-bear(which I brought back for my colleague who shall be moving to Singapore), some chocolate pralines. All very nice. The room service called by and offered turn-down service whilst I was going to get some dinner on the town, which I very much appreciated. Upon my return all amenities were replaced (I had taken a shower earlier so used some), bed made, slippers and bathrobes ready for the evening and radio turned on playing smooth jazz (how did they know to play 'Por Una Cabeza' which I really like is beyond me). Excellent service!
Bathroom: Quite large, with separate rain-shower and bathtub. All amenities provided (toothbrush, comb, shaving set, etc...) as you would expect in full-service Asian Hilton/Conrad. I so wish the European hotels would have things like combs and toothbrushes available in the rooms....

Service

Service was top-notch! From arrival when I was accompanied to my room, turn-down service, and executive lounge staff, they are real asset to this hotel.

Executive Lounge: Top floor of the hotel is dedicated to the lounge where you can get drinks, breakfast, hors d'oeuvres, wine, etc... One can also check-in and check-out here and do some printing etc. Alas I could not check-in there as I was told it was too busy and when I went by later they were right. It was difficult to find a table seat for breakfast. I was pleased about the fact that one can enjoy executive lounge even after having checked-out of the room and everything went very smoothly whilst I did some work and waited for a couple of hours before heading to the airport.

Was the shower dirty or is that just the lighting? Grouting and caddy look dirty.

I believe it is just the lighting of the room causing this effect. I do not recall any dirt on grouting etc... Will be staying here again in November so will update

Upgraded from Deluxe King to Presidential Suite. Did not ask for or expect this level of upgrade.

Thanks for the review! Looks lovely. I booked my mum into the Conrad for her birthday staycation - hopefully she gets a nice upgrade.

@nufnuf77 & @newaarondavidson:
I believe it's partially the lighting but at the same time the rooms do look pretty tired and in need of some upgrading and/or refreshing works. Although there were once I found yellow, brown and black stains in the bathtub and foul smelling liquid leaking from the toilet bowl. called the executive lounge and lodged a complaint. they changed me to another room and their manager later sent me an email guaranteeing an upgrade to executive suite (mid-tier suite) for my next stay regardless of which room type i booked, even a base classic room

@DevilDawg1960:
Yeah i got that too! although it was from a centennial suite to a presidential suite. i have noticed at the front desk, CCS upgrading diamonds from classic rooms to presidential suites.

Just curious, do most Diamonds check in at the lobby level reception desk or at the lounge?

I always check in downstairs, since I have never understood the logic of going up (with all my luggage) and then coming down to the allotted room. Of course sometimes I have been allocated a room on the same floor as the lounge, but that was relatively rare. And in spite of nearly a dozen stays there, I have never scored a suite. Of course, I always book the cheapest room

Yeah I always check in downstairs too. Even when I'm booked into executive room types or upgraded to executive room types.

Makes no sense to me too to have to go all the way up just to check in. So I'll always tell front desk I'll just check in at the ground level.

But I suppose there are people who would prefer to have it done a couple of storeys above the ground.

Unless there's a massive queue at front desk, in which case I'll mention that I'd like to check in at EL.

It's the same shower/tub that was in place when I visited in Dec 2004. (Remember the date since the tsunami hit the Indian Ocean only one week later)
Thus it's probably picked up some use over the last decade.

It depends. Usually at the lobby. However I'll goto the EL if there's a line, or if at a property that actually takes my luggage and places it in storage till I'm assigned a room. The Millennium Hilton BKK, for all its other flaws has a great baggage system. They take your bags, give you a claim ticket, log it into the system, and when you checkin (at lobby or EL) you give the agent your ticket. They then enter your room number, and bingo your bags are to your room normally before you even get there. They even opened them and hung up shirts and pants.
