Check In

I was greeted by head hotel porter as I was getting out of the airport taxi (cost a mere S$16 from the airport) and was escorted to the reception. I was not given the option to check-in in the lounge but did not really mind, as I was tired of 14 hour flight from LHR and just wanted to get changed and go out. Very kind receptionist asked whether it was my first time at Conrad Singapore (yes, as I usually stay in the Hilton on Orchard road) and she then mentioned everything I needed to know, like swimming pool opening hours, location of exec lounge, offered late check-out at 3pm (due to Hilton Diamond status and my flight not departing till 10 pm anyway), and escorted me to my room.
 

Room

I booked the cheapest Classic King size bed room (at rate of around S$350). Upon arrival I was upgraded to Executive king room (alas, no suite upgrade available for me this time). It was a nice air-conditioned king size bedroom (I liked that the setting and air-con were on as I entered the room and temperature was just right). Not the largest or fanciest room I have seen, but the views were excellent. From 25th floor (I think I remember this right) with views of the Marina, S flyer and St Andrews cathedral. Absolutely stunning. Free fruit, welcome Conrad-Singapore labelled teddy-bear(which I brought back for my colleague who shall be moving to Singapore), some chocolate pralines. All very nice. The room service called by and offered turn-down service whilst I was going to get some dinner on the town, which I very much appreciated. Upon my return all amenities were replaced (I had taken a shower earlier so used some), bed made, slippers and bathrobes ready for the evening and radio turned on playing smooth jazz (how did they know to play 'Por Una Cabeza' which I really like is beyond me). Excellent service!
Bathroom: Quite large, with separate rain-shower and bathtub. All amenities provided (toothbrush, comb, shaving set, etc...) as you would expect in full-service Asian Hilton/Conrad. I so wish the European hotels would have things like combs and toothbrushes available in the rooms....
 

Service

Service was top-notch! From arrival when I was accompanied to my room, turn-down service, and executive lounge staff, they are real asset to this hotel.

Executive Lounge: Top floor of the hotel is dedicated to the lounge where you can get drinks, breakfast, hors d'oeuvres, wine, etc... One can also check-in and check-out here and do some printing etc. Alas I could not check-in there as I was told it was too busy and when I went by later they were right. It was difficult to find a table seat for breakfast. I was pleased about the fact that one can enjoy executive lounge even after having checked-out of the room and everything went very smoothly whilst I did some work and waited for a couple of hours before heading to the airport.
