- Deluxe Executive Room
This was my first time in Bangkok, so in this hotel as well. I was staying 4 nights for leisure, with the goal to do sight-seeing.
I choose this hotel for various reasons, mainly it had a good rate for a Deluxe Room and the location. I had no regrets and a really pleasant stay.
Check In
I arrived and was expected, as one of manager contacted me the week before to ask for my arrival time.
I was escorted to the Executive Lounge when one agent took my passport to take care of the check-in while I was brought a fresh cold wet towel and a drink.
It took no more than a couple of minutes and I had my key in my hands. As a Platinium member of LCAH, I was upgraded to an Executive Deluxe room. I was also given:
- A voucher for a free drink
- A voucher for a free 15 minutes back and shoulder massage
- 4 vouchers for various rebates (15 to 30%) for the four F&B outlets in the hotel. Note that the rebate is applied before sales tax and the 10% service fee.
- The list of platinium benefits, which included one piece of Laundry for the stay
I was then escorted to my room.
Room
The room was spacious, on high floor with city view (although between the rain and the smog, I did not see that much).
The room did not look dated or worm, and I was impressed by the attention to details, such as the box with pen and paper clips, or the extra amenities in the bathroom (dental kit, ...).
A coffee machine with three capsules was near the desk, and two bottles of water were provided as part of the room. They were changed every day. Plus I had two bottles of water as Platinium member, plus two bottles of water for the bathroom. I was not going to be dehydrated.
The bed was comfortable, as expected for a Pullman.
Service
The service was excellent, with the staff anticipating your need. For example I travel with my own pillow. Without my asking, they fitted one of their clean pillow case on it and cleaned mine. The breakfast staff was truly excellent.
I can not comment too much on the food in the lounge as I did not partake.
Location
The location was good, very close to both the BTS and the MRT, so an easy access to several parts of the city. It is quite closed to the BKK airport (without trafic it does not take more than 25 minutes drive). As noted the traffic around is very heavy.
Overall
This is a very good and solid 5-star hotel in Bangkok, conveniently located, with a well trained staff and very good rooms. I would not hesitate to go back there if I find myself in Bangkok in the future.
Dining
The breakfast buffet was good, with a large spread and quality ingredients. I particularly like the fruit juice station doing two different juices every day. The snack place in the lobby had good comfort food (the salmon salad was great, as well as the Pad Thai).
